Known as the ""prince of fullbacks"", Regan took on some of the games best full-forwards, most famously South Melbournes prolific goalkicker Bob Pratt. With great running speed and a long kick, Regan was the Magpies best-and-fairest winner in 1936 and captain in 1940-41 and 1943. He played in premierships in 1935-36.
